"To give someone hope is the best gift that I can offer", are the great words that came out from Dr. Denise Cucurny.
Dr. Denise Cucurny is the President, Co-Founder, and trip coordinator of Women for World Health, an organization run by women that has the mission to help poor people around the world through educational and health care assistance. Dr. Cucurny has worked with several volunteer medical organizations as well as medical missions in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. She has been to this field for such a long time which means that she has helped so many people. Before she got her position in Women for World Health, she has already been part of so many non-profit organizations like Plasticos Foundation, the Himalayan Health Exchange, and the Cinterandes. In Plasticos Foundation, Dr. Cucurny worked as the Director for Operation of the said foundation where they travel to developing nations to perform free surgery operations to those people with body deformities, birth defects, and traumatic injuries. Now she is still working in Plasticos Foundation as the Director of Trip Development. While in Himalayan Health Exchange, she has been working in this organization until now to improve the quality of medical care of the people in the remote areas of the Himalayan region in India. She also conducted a research work that aims to combine the traditional and the occidental means of medication in this region for the sake of all the people living on it. In addition, she continued her working with the former Health Minister of Ecuador, Dr. Edgar Rodas. Dr. Cucurny together with Dr. Rodas has been on many medical missions. They visit remote areas in Ecuador to perform free medical surgeries to those people who are in need and they also interviewed faith healers in the said regions.
Dr. Denise Cucurny continues her work with the shamans in the Amazon region, the refugees in Tibet in Northern India, and in the traditional faith healers in the Andes. Now, she is considered by her fellow medical volunteers as a foundation when it comes to philanthropic services for the less fortunate people. She is best when it comes in building good relationship between the host country, the Women’s medical teams, patients, families, and of course the local community leaders. Her incomparable experience gave her an extraordinary skill in giving hopes to other people.
